May 2018 Review: Located on the upper level at the end of Leboh Ampang, off Jalan Ampang near Central Market. Serves a wide variety of Indian food (from South Indian Chettinad region, North India and Indo-Chinese), clean environment, very affordable priced. Biryanis are a winner, as are plantain vadas -latter a unique offering. Credit cards accepted, which is a huge bonus as Indian restaurants go. Worth a visit, many times over, actually! ”

“ I am a fan of Indian food and was very pleased to discover this little spot. There is a well-marked door that takes you up a flight of stairs to a spacious restaurant. Ambiance is pretty casual. The menu is massive and there is a huge selection for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The mango lassi was exceptional. All of the dishes we ordered were very flavorful - the "butter" dahl was especially good and my boy liked that butter chicken was fairly spicy. We preferred the garlic-cheese naan over the plain garlic. The only disappointment was the chai, which wasn't very spicy. All said and done, we paid RM 80 for 3 large dishes, 2 naan, 2 lassi and 2 chai and were very satisfied. The table next to us had a thali which looked great (and was only RM 16). When you are finished, pay at the register towards the back. ”

“ The only reason I couldn't give 5-star is the quantity of oil. I am a foodie. I love food, but if I want to drink oil, I can get it cheaper by the bulk at Carrefour. However, if you ignore that, it is simply a superb restaurant. Very tasty chettinad dishes. The imitation meat dishes are as delectable as others. ”

“ Betel leaf is a a Chetinad restaurant located in Lebuh Ampang. There is parking available in parking lots nearby (around Rm5-8 per entry) as street parking is extremely difficult to get. Betel Leaf is located in a shop lot and has a small entrance. As you enter, you have to walk up the stairs to get to the dining area. Betel Leaf's interior decor is extremely gorgeous as it is indian themed and it has many indian inspired decorations,colours and music. The restaurant is quite quiet at night and is a very great places for family dinners/ get -togethers. Betel Leaf offers authentic Chetinad food which means authentic southern indian food. Their dishes are rich in spices and taste, and it will definitely blow your mind. My family and I ordered Garlic Naan (RM 6 ) , Dal Palak (RM6), Aloo Ghobi Masala (RM13), Mutton Kheema Mutter (RM17) and Bru Coffee (RM4). The portion per dish is for about 2-3 people so if more people are going, you will need to order more than 1 portion. Overall, a great restaurant that every indian food lover should try! ”
